Calculus tutoring
"Calculus" covers a wide range of courses — AP Calculus AB, BC, college Calculus I, II, and beyond — and each has its own pace and expectations. Tell us which one you are taking and where it stopped making sense, and the team looks for a tutor who teaches that course.

Course topics
Calculus builds in one direction — limits, then derivatives, then integrals — so a gap early in the sequence tends to resurface everywhere after it. Naming your specific course tells a tutor exactly how far that sequence has gone.
The foundation the rest of calculus is built on. Most requests trace back to something in this unit.
This list is illustrative rather than exhaustive, and multivariable calculus support depends on tutor availability at the time of your request. Include your course name — AP Calculus AB/BC, Calculus I, II, or beyond — so the team can confirm whether a suitable tutor is available.

Straight answers
How matching works
The Prep2Perfection team reviews your request and looks for a suitable tutor, rather than asking families to choose from an unfiltered list.
If the match is wrong
If the tutor is not the right fit, let the team know and Prep2Perfection will help arrange another suitable match.
Getting started
The team begins looking for a suitable tutor after receiving your request. Same-day matching may be possible, but it is not guaranteed and depends on the subject, academic level, preferred lesson format, location and tutor availability.
How it works
Name the exact course — AP Calculus AB or BC, college Calculus I or II — and the unit or topic where things stopped making sense, or say if you are preparing for a specific exam date.
The team reviews the request and looks for a tutor comfortable with your specific course level, since AP Calculus, Calculus I and Calculus II are taught at noticeably different paces.
Bring a problem from your current unit. A worked derivative or integral problem shows quickly whether the gap is conceptual or procedural.
Pricing
These rates apply to online monthly tutoring packages.
| Monthly package | Rate per hour |
|---|---|
| 5 hours | $39 |
| 10 hours | $36 |
| 15 hours | $33 |
| 20 hours | $30 |
One-time sessions, advanced college subjects and local or in-person tutoring may be priced differently.
Feedback
Feedback from families we have worked with. These reviews are company-wide, not specific to this course or location.

Everything is going well thank you.
Questions
Calculus I covers limits, derivatives and an introduction to integration. Calculus II picks up integration techniques in depth and adds sequences and series, which many students find is a harder course than Calculus I because it depends heavily on algebra fluency built up over the whole course so far.
That decision is usually made by the school, but it does change what a tutor focuses on: BC moves faster and covers more series and parametric/polar content within a single year, roughly matching Calculus I and II combined. Mention which one you are in so the tutor paces sessions correctly.
If Precalculus is not finished yet, a Precalculus tutor is the right starting point — that course is covered on our Math Tutors page. If Precalculus is complete but shaky, many families still start directly with a calculus tutor, who can identify and patch specific Precalculus gaps as they come up rather than re-teaching the whole course.
It can be requested as an advanced pathway beyond Calculus II. Availability depends on which tutor is available at the time, since fewer tutors teach at this level, so this is confirmed during matching rather than promised up front.
Earlier gives more room to work through a full review rather than rushing the last few units. There is no fixed minimum, but starting a few weeks out is more effective than starting the week before, since calculus review usually needs to touch several units built on top of each other.
It depends on whether you are catching up on one unit, keeping pace week to week, or preparing intensively for an exam. Monthly packages are sold in blocks of hours, and the team can suggest a realistic starting point once they know the situation.
